I picked the book Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson because it is another book that is very real. In this book, the main character is entering high school with no friends. All her old friends hate her now, and have gone to different cliques. This happens all the time in high school. I think this is another book that every teenage girl entering high school should read. This would not only tell them that they need to speak up if something happens, but also, losing your friends isn’t the end of the world; you will make new ones. I think that if every girl entering high school reads this book, they won’t be as apprehensive about what people say are “the best four years of their life.” Back to Main Page Back to Runner Up Page
